Microsoft Planning to Turn Nokia X into Windows Phone

Nokia x is Nokia’s first android based phone which was a shocking news while Nokia Launched Nokia x android phone. After acquiring Nokia device division by Microsoft no one can think that Nokia can launch an android phone after that. Now with the most recent “restructuring” of Microsoft – one that includes integrating Nokia’s devices and services teams into their body – the Nokia X will be turned to Windows Phone.

nokia x turn to windows phone

As Satya Nadella said to their employees “We are working to integrate the Nokia Devices and Services teams into Microsoft. We will realize the synergies to which we committed when we announced the acquisition last September. The first-party phone portfolio will align to Microsoft’s strategic direction. To win in the higher price tiers, we will focus on breakthrough innovation that expresses and enlivens Microsoft’s digital work and digital life experiences.

In addition, we plan to shift select Nokia X product designs to become Lumia products running Windows. This builds on our success in the affordable smartphone space and aligns with our focus on Windows Universal Apps.”

I think this will be a great for Nokia X users who also expects to update their phone to windows phone OS. As Microsoft is now concentrating only on windows phone devices so this will be great step by Satya Nadella to increase sales in Asia pacific deivison as Nokia X and XL is firstly launched in this division.

When he speaks of their success with affordable smartphones, he of course refers to the Nokia Lumia 520. This is the best selling Windows Phone device in the operating system’s short history – and also often the least expensive. Microsoft’s continued focus on “affordable” smartphones running Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 into the future only makes good sense.
