How to Turn Vibrate On or Off in Windows Phone 8.1

After updating Windows phone 8, Microsoft has changed Vibration mode ON/OFF settings in windows phone 8.1. This tutorial will show you how to turn vibrate on or off for incoming phone calls, notifications, and when using navigation keys on your Windows Phone 8.1.

There are Three Vibrate Mode Features in Every phone so as Windows Phone 8.1.

1. Windows Phone 8.1 Vibrate Only/Vibration:

This feature will vibrate put all the windows phone settings in vibrate mode. Either it is a phone call, notifications about social, emails, or messages. Your Phone’s everything is vibrated in this mode.

2. Windows Phone 8.1 Vibrate and Ring:

In this feature, your phone is in a state of both vibrate or ringing mode. You have to select which thing happen first while receiving a phone call or message notification, Either your mobile vibrates first and then rings or Rings First and then Vibrate.

3. Windows Phone 8.1 Silent Mode:

In this feature, you know very well that Neither your Vibrates not it Rings. Everything will go in silent mode from phone calls to messages, notifications.

Turn On or Off Vibrate in Ringtones + Sounds Settings

Step 1:  In the App List which you can see by right slide from your Home Screen. In App list, search settings. (see screenshot below)

Step 2: In System, Click on 2nd option which is Ringtones+Sounds. (see screenshot below)

Step 3: Now you will see Vibrate option at the Top, where you can Turn vibrate ON or OFF just by sliding this to right. (see screenshot below)

Step 4: Now its done and you can return to your Start Screen.

Option Two:

This option is to turn on or off to vibrate your phone when you get an incoming phone call, and if a notification you have set to vibrate in OPTION THREE below will.

This option is the same as OPTION ONE above.

Turn On or Off Vibrate in Volume Bar

Step 1: Press the volume up + or volume down button on the top right side of your phone. (see screenshot below)

Step 2: Click on the down arrow volume bar button at the top right corner. (see screenshot below)

Step 3: Tap Vibrate ON Name:  Vibrate_Button.png Views: 298 Size:  4.6 KB(currently on) or Vibrate OFF Name:  Vibrate_Button.png Views: 298 Size:  4.6 KB (currently off) to toggle vibrate on and off. (see screenshots below)

Option Three

This option is to turn on or off to vibrate your phone when you get a new notification for apps and settings in the Action Center.

When you turn on vibrate for an app or setting notification, your phone will vibrate only if you have vibrate turned on in OPTION ONE or OPTION TWO above to allow it.

Step 1: In the App list, Go to Settings. (see screenshots below)

Step 3: Now Click on CheckBox to Turn Vibrate on or off for Notifications. (see screenshots below)

Step 4: When done, return to Start Screen.

Option Four

The navigation keys are the three hardware Back, Start, and Search buttons on the bottom navigation bar of your phone. This option will turn on or off to vibrate the phone when you use the navigation keys. Options 1-3 above will not affect this.

Step 1:  In the App List, tap Settings. (see screenshot below)

Step 2: In settings option, find Touch and click on it. (see screenshot below)

Step 3: Under Navigation bar at the bottom, turn on or off to vibrate when using navigation keys. (see screenshot below)

Step 4: Tap on restart now. A restart of your phone is required to make this change effective. (see screenshot below)
